Bowling and a Book

So over the weekend at work Tom gave me a bowling ball since he isn't throwing a 16 pounder anymore. After watching the Lions loose and then the first episode of Top Chef at Davis's house I went home and then went to Dick's for friends and family night. I proceeded to get a pair of bowling shoes for pretty cheap and I am very excited to try both the ball and shoes out next time I go bowling, hopefully soon.

I also started a book at work on Saturday called The Hunger Games. I proceeded to finish it on Sunday and I cannot stress how much I liked the book. Its kind of a mix between 1984 and Battle Royale or Lord of the Flies. The Book is the first in a trillogy and I will be starting the second book, Catching Fire Tonight.

Back from the dead

I am currently at work and have decided to revive this old blog.

Recent news goes as follows:

-I am finishing up two classes at Wayne State in its School of Library and Information Science (Administration and Management of Libraries and Children's Literature Grades 4-8) I am stoked to be done with these classes, not because I haven't learned anything but they have been quite tedious.

-Luke Donovan and I have been covering songs at his apartment/garage/house. We switch who plays drums or guitar and so far we got quite a song book which we hope to bring to local bars. Also our name is Sexy Weapons and Tactics.

- For the Children's Literature class we have to create an annotated bibliography in which we have to read 50 books and then write a little blurb about them. Throughout the semester I have felt guilty if I wasn't reading a children's chapter book. So far some of my favorites have been Bone, Mouse Guard, Frindle, Shredderman, and the Tale of Desperaux.
Recently I received excellent news about the project when my professor knocked the requirement down from 50 to 30 books (since I was around 30 books read it made my night).

-For Thanksgiving my parents and I drove down to Covington KY to see my sister on Tuesday of that week. We listened to Carl Hiaasen's Flush, which was a great book and makes me want to read more of his books, young adult and adult. We spent a lot of time with Abby and it made me realize how much fun the four of us have as a family. We ate at Steak and Shake, Waffle House and Skyline Chili which was not as great as Abby made it out to be. The four of us went to a liquor store which was HUGE and I proceeded to get some gifts as well as a Crown Royal gift set and a Leinenkugel's pint glass for myself.
Thanksgiving itself was fun, Abby and I woke up at 7 am to put the turkey in which turned out pretty good. The Osborns came over and we all had a good time. My parents and I hit the road and was back in Brighton at 8.

-I met up with Travis and Steve for Black Friday at Gamestop, where I bought a PlayStation 3 and a few games. I went over to Brianna's where later that day we went to Twelve Oaks and I got some nicer clothes for interviews, hopefully.

-Over the past few days nothing has been too exciting. The Tigers got Victor Martinez (hopefully he isn't a Juan Gonzalez), and I have been playing Uncharted and Black Ops a lot. And I applied to be a MC for the trivia company which I attend every week at TGI Fridays.

Thats all for now.
love, Nick

PS The Walking Dead is fantastic!

5:13 pm
Today I went to History of Christianity and then came home, where I ate a frozen pizza for lunch and then watched the rest of The Two Towers. I later went to CIS where class was boring and now I am back home working on designing a website for User Interface and Design. I also put in a sirloin roast in the oven, I am hoping on making some Yorkshire pudding with it also. DREAM BIG!

Snowday pt2

I went back to sleep after a while and woke up to the sound of Randall calling me. I crawled out of bed and called him back. After we had a nice little chat I went outside and helped with the removal of snow from the driveway. I made some French Toast for myself which was tasty and then Ruskus, Tim, Zach and I went to Starbucks where I got a strawberry cream drink which was not worth it's price. We then headed over to Super 1 where we got some milk and other needed things and then we got some turkey medallions from the Jerky Outlet that we are going to try for dinner. After that we headed home and we did the dishes. Ruskus took off and I have been cruising the internet since then. Turns out night classes are canceled which doesn't seem necessary at all.
Last night when Zach came home from practice Sam came over as well. We watched two episodes of Flight of the Conchords: "Girlfriends" and "Tour".

This morning I woke up to Zach telling me that there is a snow day today, Here Here, Har Har!

Picture

So Hilliary posted some pictures from her goodbye party she had last weekend, this is one of my favorites. Paper still sucks. I couldn't come up with a good thesis if it came and bit me in the ass.
I made some pizza for dinner using the dough that Garret's mom brought from East Jordan. I made a BBQ chicken pizza and it was very tasty. Paper sill sucks.
